Parque da Catacumba

An unusual suggestion for an ecological tour in Rio de Janeiro is tree climbing at the Parque da Catacumba – a green park located in one of the most beautiful quarters in the city, Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas. This organized experience takes you through nine bridges, suspended six meters above the ground, under the keen eye of two guides. It feels like you are floating in the middle of the Atlantic Forest, which surrounds the itinerary’s 120 meters.
It is a fun adventure, and each step ends up being a test on your courage and balance.

Parque Lage

The Parque Enrique Lage was formerly the residence of industrialist Enrique Lage and his wife, singer Gabriela Bezanzoni. During the 1920′s Lage had the mansion remodeled by Italian architect Mario Vodrel, with interior paintings by Salvador Payols Sabaté. In the 1960′s the land became a public park, with walking trails through subtropical forest. The Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Lage (Visual Arts School of Parque Lage) and a café open to the public operate from the former mansion.
